One of the world's biggest bitcoin exchanges bithumb said that more than $30 million worth of cryptocurrencies have been stolen from it. They also mention in a notice on its website that all customer deposits and withdrawals have been suspended while it reviews the situation. And those stole cryptocurrencies will be coverd from BITHUMB and all of the assets are being transferring to cold wallet

When you keep your currency in a device which is completely offline it's called cold storage. For those seeking the most secure form of storage. CoinBase holds up 97% of its coin reserves in hardware and paper wallets.Which mean that it cant be haked 
why this is happening with every other exchange

This is really very panic to hear that exchange got hacked, so better to use hardware wallet to store your altcoins. You can use Ledger nano s wallet, Myetherwallet,or use mew.
