Stan, I'm going to give you a genuine comment.
I didn't read Jared's last words you posted. Not because there isn't something valuable in them.
I trust your heart, your will, and who you are, because I've grown to know you over time, more than Jared.
So I'm leaving you this comment after "starting to read" and "scrolling past" Jared's last words.
With that said, I'd like to say, someone's past, and their history shouldn't mean who they are today. We all have a change of thought. We evolve through life, and most of us become better, more mature individuals as times go on.
There seems to be a consensus -- that I've heard multiple times -- that Stan is too trusting. He's so locked into the good possibilities and potential of people, he's self-blinding himself, and others around him.. he can promote, and support bad information without realizing it.
Your son, Dan, is very visionary, but he has his faults too... Same as me, I have faults... we all have faults.
Stan, you're someone I still have a lot of respect for...
But people are really having to start vetting the info you put out... It has become apparent, that your good heart, your good nature of "good ideas, get a fair chance" are not always right.
We wanted to see and believe everything you have put out before. But it has now been seen as "Just because Stan recommended it, or sees value in it" doesn't mean it holds value...
..and you never said it should...
..but to be the father of Dan Larimer, one of the brilliant minds of our day in cryptocurrency, people are expecting a little more discerning on what you will support, value, and talk about.
There's probably a bible verse you are thinking about right about now that will suit what I'm trying to say...
But before you reply with that.. I want to also say..
Please pick and choose your public presence. Instead of posting everything you're "thinking about"... or "considering as good" -- use your reputation to only post things that are vetted 100% by you, to be solid.
We don't hear from Dan much, but when we do, I'm sure he has learned by now to really think about what he's about to type...
Stan, you should be doing the same. You wear your heart on your sleeve and have been victimized for it. People like me appreciate it. There are many who will use that same quality against you.
I really believe when it comes to Jared, you need to look at all of the bits and bolts that made up that machine. There are some things and warning signs you overlooked, simply because you wanted the greater picture to succeed.
"I didn't read Jared's last words you posted. Not because there isn't something valuable in them."
Then why? Stan has stated more than once that the AriseBank case will be the regulatory case of the century. It will set the precedent for ICO's going forward.
...because I didn't want them to cloud the problem of being able to say what I felt was necessary. These things I shared, is the still the perception of many who stumble upon Arise, or Jared, and soon as they see either word, they immediately shut off..
Of course I've re-scrolled up and read them. You are right.. this case, or any other similar regulatory case needs to be noted and learned from.
The problem I have now, is that I'd like to comment on Jared's last words, because I really can't. They are his last words, and until he's released from custody and able to comment back, that'd be unfair.
Alas, his words have a lot of importance in them, and need to stand as they are without scrutiny. When Jared is released, maybe he'll have something more to say?
