These discussions took place during meetings and interviews filmed during the creation and design on the graphene chain. Graphene is the most feature rich blockchain in existence.
Part of the discussions were the inability of Bitcoin to address recurring payments, which many businesses and industries models revolve around.
In order to get a businesses that relies on a subscription model to even look at using digital currencies as a payment form, this challenge would need to be addressed.

He is 100% correct in that. Eventually we will all be using our own custom banks to interact with each others custom banks - all on the blockchain.
