The science behind gradual emotional resilience building

I’ve read about “emotional resilience” but it sounds kind of abstract. Is it something you can actually train, or is it just a personality trait some people are born with?

I’ve noticed that people who’ve been through gradual challenges often handle crises better than those who avoid discomfort entirely. It’s like your brain remembers how to cope.

You can definitely build it over time — it’s like strengthening a muscle. The tricky part is that it grows through repeated exposure to manageable challenges, not one big breakthrough. I liked the way liven reviews explained it: they compared it to progressive training, where you slowly increase your capacity to handle stress. For me, practicing tiny acts of problem-solving when I’m calm makes it easier to stay level-headed when life actually throws curveballs.
