Yep, pet hair is the ultimate vacuum killer if you don’t stay on top of maintenance. I’ve got a Dirt Devil myself, and every month I take out the filters, wash them, and make sure the brush roller is free from hair and string. The belt can also wear out, which affects suction. I actually used the diagrams from the Dirt Devil manuals here https://manuals.online/dirt-devil to figure out how to replace mine without paying for a repair service. Once I started doing that routine, my vacuum’s suction went back to almost new, and it doesn’t overheat anymore. Honestly, five minutes of cleaning can save you from buying a new machine way too soon.
