Nowadays in Russia, there are not so many events concerning blockchain technology. So, our non-profit organization «Financial Literacy» is trying to change this situation. To achieve this aim, we conduct seminars which are free and suitable for beginners.

По крайней мере, ситуация обстояла так до сегодняшнего дня, когда мы с ребятами в рамках некоммерческой организации "Финансовая Грамотность" решили проводить семинары по этой теме, надеясь достать население из тьмы невежества прямиком в светлое деценетрализованное будущее.
One of the main problems of holding such seminars is that it’s difficult to explain how it works. It takes much time to clarify even basics to those who have no technology background. Especially for those who really had no idea about it, because one section lasts only two hours.
Задача номер один - как минимум объяснить, что такое блокчейн. Обычно на то, чтобы объяснить среднему гражданину РФ, что за распределенные реестры такие и что с ними происходит, уходит около двух часов (минимум). Мы старательно объясняем происходящее на острие технологий, если нужно, вдаваясь в пространные объяснения на любые смежные темы.
The second problem is that it’s hard to organize these events because Russian citizens just don’t understand the importance of blockchain technology in the modern wold. They look at it like WAT and often don’t realize how it can change people’s lives.
Плюс ко всему, довольно сложно народ заманить на подобные мероприятия. Даже если говоришь, что это технологические прорыв десятилетия. И что неплохо бы о нем знать. Мало того, что неплохо - еще и очень выгодно использовать его плоды. Никаких комиссий, деньги хранишь у себя и т.п. Все равно, интерес граждан остается мал.
We managed to attract about 50 students and visitors of CampusFest at Perm State University. It’s just a drop in the ocean in comparison with our goals, but we hope that this year our lectures will blow people's minds and we will be able to reach like 1000 participants of our events.
Несмотря на то, что я не Егор Крид, удалось собрать около 50 человек из гуляющих посреди КампусФеста в Пермском Государственном Научно Исследовательском Университете (топ-ВУЗ Перми, один из двух). Капля в море, но с чего-то надо было начинать. До конца года мы планируем выступить лайв как минимум перед тысячей слушателей.

The topics that we discuss include all important technology and business basics of blockchain development, from transactions and consensus to ICO and exchanges. Our dream day is when we will get approval from the Russian Government and blockchain technology lessons will be included in the process of education in Russian universities, step by step and providing good quality. We want our program to be useful not only for IT-specialists but also for entrepreneurs and startupers.
Наша типичная лекция про блокчейн включает обзорный материал от технических деталей по транзакциям и процессу развития сетей до рыночных механизмов, которые действуют в мире блокчейн-проектов. Программа максимум - как можно быстрее ввести соответствующие пары в обязательную программу технических и экономических специальностей ВУЗов. Благо, на Западе это уже происходит. В том числе, мы надеемся повлиять на количество создаваемых блокчейн-стартапов, сделанных русскоязычными ребятами в России.

I understand that there is a lively Bitcoin-scene in Russia, but I fail to understand the current legal status of Bitcoin.
As I heard that the government was taking an anti-Bitcoin position, I would assume that such rumours can be quite a hindrance.
Do you have a link for me to read up on it or give me a brief summary?
