Dether Development Update #2

in #blockchain8 years ago

The preparation of our first release on the Ethereum mainnet is ongoing and will take place in several steps that we will describe in this post.

Shop Listing

Though we haven’t yet addressed it at length in our development posts, one of the fundamental aspects of our project is listing shops. The first brick that we are laying down aims to easily allow shops already accepting crypto to be referenced on our map. This will be the first part of our main net release. This will take the form of a web app, or a license to put DTH escrow, allowing a shop to be referenced in Dether’s Ecosystem.

Dether Mobile Application

As described in the previous article (Developement Update #1) the Dether application will be divided into three main parts:

The Dether Map

The heart of the app will be the map indicating the location of users wanting to buy or sell their crypto, and physical stores accepting crypto. The map is already finalized and can locate the point of sale registered in the smart contract.

Sales

This part will allow any user to create his or her point of sale to be referenced on the map. We spent a lot of time carrying out user tests to create a UX that is accessible to the largest number of people. It is this part that requires the most time and we are three-fourths of the way though with development.

The Dether Wallet

Since we started the adventure we’ve realized that our app has the potential to be used as a real wallet in everyday life. This is why we are really working to develop this part as a product in its own right.

These three aspects together allow us to bring a real added value to the ecosystem. We want to become the reference app for everyday wallet management, which is why we will strive to push each element to its maximum potential.

The protocol that will eventually serve to have a totally decentralized system while remaining compliant is also under development. Smart contracts to locate points of interest will be subject to audit in the coming days.

We are also developing tools and back-office internally to easily monitor what will happen in the first months of use. Eventually, all transaction arbitrage or moderation of points of sale will be decentralized, thanks to smart contracts linked to incentive systems. But while waiting to have these decentralized solutions usable in mainnet, and thus to be able to operate now in the best conditions, we need simple tools to be able to erase an “illicit” point of sale, for example.

The strength of our project lies in the fact that it is an inclusive solution that allows us to combine and create a synergy between many facets of our daily lives: payment with cryptocurrency, and the usefulness of Dapps, all in one ecosystem, with tools to facilitate integration in any application.

To summarize, our first release in the coming weeks will concern shops with the possibility of referencing them on the map. Following that, over the course of a few weeks will be the release of the app, with the map and the wallet available to everyone. This will be followed by a marketing campaign targeting Africa and Latin America, highlighting the release of the buy and sell features, which will be rolled out locally, country by country.

We are all very excited to see the project take its first steps in the coming weeks!

I was banned in telegram after critical words about their marketing and pr activity.

This 'solid' team, building future for free and decentralized world started to behave as other scummers do. My words were about their obligation to support their token till the product launch (x0.3 ETH since ICO). But as a result, I got admin's 'you are greedy young ones' and ban. I got no answer from their heads.
Well, line#0 in redflags checklist is checked.
