Customs deal with the continuous flow of different goods and objects. They certify the fact that the goods have the legal right to enter the country, make a note about its movement, determine its cost and category. This is what the Blockchain does too: verifies the goods and keeps the information about it. That’s why it didn’t came as surprise when the Korean Customs Service together with Samsung SDS announced the implementation of the Blockchain into the custom clearance system.
The purpose of this cooperation is to ensure the effectiveness of the service and to curb fraud. It is noteworthy that Samsung SDS will use the Nexledger blockchain platform, which will allow sharing documents between stakeholders at every stage of the process. Even such large company as Samsung has to use the Blockchain system made by third-party developers, because building a reliable Blockchain is a great work. ENDO Protocol is one of the few projects, that has developed an ecosystem, that is able to unite government agencies, logistics and insurance companies, as well as ordinary recipients, waiting for a package from abroad. We have built not only the main infrastructure, but also a line of five apps.
Why did we build that many applications? For the reasons of maximum efficiency. We believe that each task should be managed separately, so that the working interface would not be overloaded. It should be as simple as possible, easy to understand and not require any training. As customs officers share functions among themselves, ENDO Protocol also distributes the tasks inside itself. Export trade and production of export goods, storage of goods, forming a customs declarations - any of these areas can be automated separately, helping an overall automation to be more transparent and convenient. For the same reason today we develop a Software Developers Kit, that can be used as a basis for building a new application for any operations. With SDK this task can be done by a small team of coders and a little budget.
ENDO Protocol allows to process all the customs transactions in real time as its throughput reaches 65,000 transactions per second. It also offers a smart contract system that can replace any other accompanying documents. The ENDO Legacy application, which scans the QR codes and NFC chips of the goods, can become one of the most convenient ways to verify the authenticity of the product. It needs just a little innovation of adding the QR code to the parcel before sending.
Thanks to our ecosystem, customs can work many times more efficiently and process many times more goods. This will result in the amount of imported counterfeit decreased to zero due to the fact that no item will go unnoticed.
