I know I can earn on curation. I have been doing that. But that double up in curation does not cover the loss of post payouts. Small minnow and plankton accounts will not earn much on their curation anyway. Their main income was Author rewards.

I forgot to ask you, have you contacted the witnesses and those who have approved this change? Have you told them what you have written down here so far?
You think any of the witnesses would listen to what minnows have to say? Or that they don't know that judging by all the calculations they probably did before implementing this great idea?
I am sorry, but it is really frustrating to see that they are killing the small users with an excuse of "you curation will be bigger" and "you will get more votes". And where those votes will come if everyone has their votes already allocated and if not, they will rather vote the big posts in chance of better curation reward.
Even if you would like to reward a new and undervalued user and vote his post with 100%, your vote will be worth about a half of what it is really worth. So you will be automatically giving them less. And you have no option to give your full vote strength. And after that it is still 50-50 payout.
Really disappointing...
I was thinking what's the point of discussing it here as you know very well I can't change anything as I don't have the power. Just as they didn't ask me if I'm ok with it, I have no other choice than to find a way to survive or maybe do more than survive. I see things a bit differently but that's my problem.
With a little effort you could have written an open letter and get users to support it. More voices could have been heard better. I'm telling you this without any intention of harming you, I hope you know that by now.
I have left comments on the official posts. Just as many other users. I don't think it will change anything. I don't have the power to change it either.
The whales need more money (since steem price is down for so long) and they will get it with this HF.
