I saw a post on Hive, and the person made a post to document their healing process after a surgical procedure and honestly I was happy to see a lot of Hive community folks cheering the man on, and giving him some visible emotional support.
I've not seen a comment section that's been eo supportive in a long time, and this just proves that a lot of Hive users (even though they're not posting) are in the shadows lurking around and hoping that things can significantly get better.
They may hate the politics, the deaf ears that the witness have shown either towards reducing the HBD debt that's been pegging back Hive and all that, but they're still here, waiting and hoping. At least if I know 10, then I think 6 are still lurking in the shadows.
Some are still using the platform as their day to day brochure or blog, a few more are using it as a social platform that doesn't really censor you. A week ago, I suggested some improvement we can make towards marketing, how we can actually take advantage of fow monetisation works on twitter and YouTube to earn some extra dollars for the chain..
I tagged and raised awareness, but no one responded, so it's safe to say they've got it handled, and may not need my input, even if I think it's worth giving a shot.
Of course, people are more angry when there are no pumps, when external pumps doesn't reflect enough the internal pumps we have and all that, sometimes it's the fact that BTC pumps 20% and we do only 7% of course a lot of people may be angry but they're doing the FUD rant out of a place of love and concern.
Online, not active
Seeing a wholesome comment section of old and new hive users feels very nostalgic. It reminds me of the old days when things looked very good, and everyone was just happy. So, it's not a case of people aren't active, they're present, they log on to the check, scroll, check stats, check posts, but maybe don't post or do the traditional things that we consider to be called "being active", but they're available quite alright.
I know a particular user from Europe that posts a lot in the past, but aren't active anymore, and only posts updates of dumping price. I think the reality of the situation is that people are active, they watch, they look, they hope or get angry, they're just not posting.
Although you'd see the ones that's entirely left, their presence is completely gone and the percentage is significantly less than the ones that are lurking, online but not traditionally active like you'll think.
Being bullish takes little establishment
In reality, we can make the ecosystem great again, especially if we actually make a few little changes here and there. It doesn't take much to actually bring healthy activity on the chain again, it just takes a few announcements and some little changes.
I see the HiveFest is here, but not a lot of people are optimistic, I still think it's the same: change a few things, make a few announcements and everyone will start feeling bullish again, it just takes some minor adjustments.
The population isn't offline, they're just waiting for a positive news to be active again.

Hive is quite tumultuous these days and I think that the "whales" at the top don't speak about the things that need to happen in order to remediate the current tokenomics. Maybe Hive Fest will bring some awareness and some answers to that, if someone has the courage to ask the though questions.
