I found this speech of Ripple CEP and co-Founder Chris Larsen and thought it might be also interesting for the Steemit or any other 'disruptive' community. The video of the speech is about 6 minutes long and has way to few views imho.

Haha, yeah... that was my first thought on Ripple, too. It doesn't change the fact, that the speech is worth listening to. And to be fair, Ripple should be completely respected as a competition. I also could imagine, that this would be one way to introduce normies to the block-chain. And since its so different from Bitcoin, I also don't see it as a threat.
