Recreational fishing has been a common activity in most Nations like US, Japan, Australia, etc. In fact US has fishing as one of their traditions that all age brackets find it fun and recreational to engage in angling, because of this, a huge fund has been generated from anglers. According to Research gotten from 2016 National Survey of Fishing, Hunting and Wildlife-Associated Recreation, American Anglers spend nearly $50 billion on yearly basis.

Many companies have tapped into angling industry by creating online fishing tournaments and these tournaments broadened sports fishing into a global thing. With this, anglers in any part of the world can be doing their thing (angling) and be competing with other anglers all of over the world, how this tournament works is that you enroll for the tournament, then catch a fish then you take a picture of the fish you caught and upload on the tournament website, at the end whoever that his or her fish is the biggest in size wins.
WHAT IS PRO FISH
Sports Fishing like i stated above has been in existence, but however the industry needs a more robust and revolutionary technology to solve most of the challenges that its faced with, some of this issues are;
- high fees required from anglers in order to join the tournament,
- also most times anglers tend to cheat by photoshoping the images of fishes they upload for the tournament,
- thirdly in most sports fishing websites, vendors can not easily sell fishing equipments and services to anglers that needs it, etc
Because of the above and more, an organization called PRO FISH saw it wise to bring blockchain technology into this booming industry to revolutionalize sports fishing for all and sundry.
