👍 BiG ups from here highly esteemed, it is a great news to spell out to you that Sierra Leone has adopted a blockchain powered election.
With no doubts, we are all aware of the stunning pace to which the blockchain is developing and spreading it's technological concepts wide across the nations of the world.

From the effortless sending and receiving of digital currency without any third party banking institution, to the emergence of the blockchain powered social media that makes possible the monetization of social contents. Now the blockchain concept has spread it's coast to guaranteeing or providing an accountable election process for any nation that wishes to adopt this great system.
Sierra Leone has now been recorded in history as the first Nation and country to adopt the blockchain powered electoral process for her general elections.

Believe it or not, I actually thought the U.S would have actually been the very first adopters of this very system as they have been seen to be one of the leading countries in the aspect of technology and speed of implementing technological developments. Germany too is another great nation that is well to do in terms of securing technological developments, but then the it will also interest you to know that the blockchain powered election system of Sierra Leone is actually was actually designed and put to place by a Switzerland company, so you might be wondering why even the Switzerland did not become the very first people to adopt it.

A major challenge of every nation is during election processes, which is the most TV sensitive, decisive and determinant of the future of every nation. The process of elections have been seen to be a spare head of insecurity and an avenue used for violence and corruption especially in Africa.
Over the years now, Africans have witnessed problems as rigging, violence, ballot looting and even assassination of personels .so in all this is just an idea of the challenge that accompanys general elections in the country.
Sierra Leone used a blockchain solution to tarry and provide proof of the recently held elections in the country. This whole system was developed by a Switzerland based voting technology company, Agora.

During the election processes in Sierra Leone, Agora used thier proprietary blockchain distributed ledger to keep track of the elections contested by 16 candidates. I.e a blockchain based solution that uses a public ledger for track storing of election data.

This looks to me like a trend in science and technology that will soon beat the system of manual voting and even the electronic voting that is presently used in some countries. What's your personal take on this? Will you subscribe to this type of voting system? Do you think this will play a major role in guaranteeing a well to do representative government in your community or country?

Well I'm not sure about how you see or what you think about the blockchain innovation at large, but what I'm sure in this perspective is that every Nations dream is to achieve a free and fair election, which will in turn lead to a well representative Government.
Presently, opposition politicians in the Democratic Republic of Congo are opposed to the use of electronic voting machines as they feel these can be hacked and the results manipulated. “First, people in Sierra Leone want to vote in peace and have hope.
Personally This is a welcome development as I strongly believe that this will go a long way in shaping the entire nature of electoral process in my country, Nigeria for good.

block-chain voting system in our country....majority will, but ferderal government might not pay interest to it.

They have their choices anyways. But a wiser choice will make a better nation.

Blockchain has so much to offer and that will turn things around in Nigeria and Africa at large but with our Presidents and head of states of over 60/ 70 years of age would not see it as a welcome development.

For me it is a welcome development we should just keep spreading the gospel of blockchain. Thank you for the write up @kennyc

Indeed this technology in development might appear strange in the eyes of the aged leaders, but the truth still remains that change must always take place just as technology moves on.
Moreover this shouldn't be a challenge, as technology through science has always made life better.
Thanks for the time here, I do appreciate. Steemon!
