The Shift is Complete!

It has been a long 13 weeks since my Powerdown started and my journey towards reallocating the assets in the different ecosystems began. I did as much independent research that I could to really decide on where I would land in the end and can only say that many tough decisions were made by myself. Given the amount of administrative burdens created by these changes to allocation, it was something that I have not been looking for. Adding to the emotional impacts of seeing the things I did in the process, I am glad it is mostly over for me.

I believe that Social Media and Blockchain are at a very valuable and attractive crossroad in which meeting together could build the value needed towards the future of many technology projects. It is why my stakes in some Blockchain protocols became my the largest asset in not only my Cryptocurrency portfolio but excluding Real Estate, all of my investable assets. I also believe that the opportunity is wide and deep which leads me to not really look for a winner but instead where value can be created. That value is clearly driven by engagement and community which lands me close to those with which I have learned over the last 3 years now.

However, the forks created also gave me the opportunity to allocate things in a way to leverage opportunities I have been seeing for some time without having to add to resources. I have found that the ability for both currencies to hold on to their prices for this long has been interesting and encouraging. As decisions by individual projects were made, I basically followed given that my engagement is focus with those communities. I was able to aggressively add to my Splinterlands Collection which has been one of the few bright spots of not only this social blockchain experiments but also of my Cryptocurrency portfolio since the bear market of 2018.

The process also allowed me to learn about how the ecosystems continue to develop ways to engage with users and communities. The DEXes have been fascinating to see operate and without having to go and search for exchanges to list some currencies, I was able to find SwapApp to help me with the allocation process as well. I originally thought that the process will get me closer to what I have always wanted; become an Orca. However, I still think that other opportunities were better in the short term so only grew the account balance by very little. Hopefully, the allocation now will pave the way for better flows in the future to leverage my Stakes in the long term.

While nobody knows the future, I have placed my bets and sided with passion first. The communities will continue to work towards their visions and given the importance of content being fundamental within the space, I feel I can continue to engage although limited from the past. The experience has allowed me to continue to learn but also remind me of the importance of presence and relationships which were fundamental in these developments. I struggled with the change and surely suffered the motivation and momentum I had but I remain close enough to be ready at any moment to make a comeback!
