What is Cool Cousin?

Cool Cousin is a decentralized ecosystem that connects travelers with the well-informed locals of their destination. Cool Cousin allows users to connect with one another for the purpose of acting as travel agents. Instead of wasting precious vacation time on research about local events and places, a user can find a "Cousin" that has similar tastes as themselves and get recommendations that are fit for them.

The Problem Faced Now

Travelers are faced with a ton of options regardless of where they go. Most tourists resort to online reviews and research to determine which locations to visit during their stay. The problem with the online content is that it is not catered to them, nor is it necessarily honest. Online reviews and tourist-targeted websites can often be misleading and offer an imbalanced experience that benefits the businesses rather than the traveler.

The Cool Cousin Solution

Think about the area where you live and perhaps have lived for decades. Think of all the great spots, whether they are restaurants, sight-seeing locations or shopping malls. If someone from another country is visiting your city who has similar tastes to you, what are the chances of them being able to find those spots on their own during their short stay?

This is where Cool Cousin steps in. As a tourist, you can list through local profiles and find someone who has similar interests. Each profile contains a map with that person's favorite places! If that is not enough information, you can always directly message them and ask about something specific you are looking for.

Cool Cousin will save travelers time and bad experience. It creates a platform for visitors to truly experience the locality, while providing locals a chance to earn for their knowledge.

The Cool Cousin Community & User Types

Cousins & Pro-Cousins

The locals are referred to as Cousins. The Cousins are at the heart of the platform. These are the individuals who live in destinations the traveler is going to. They know their city inside out. Cousins will create profiles on Cool Cousin that travelers can look through. The profiles will contain a map that points out that Cousin's favorite places. Cousins can also write various guides and answer questions the travelers may have.

Cousins will earn CUZ tokens from answering questions and making sure their profile contains useful information.

Users

Travelers are the users who will be using the service. They will have access to Cousin profiles and can choose to pay for more in-depth services.

Contributors

There are more ways to earn CUZ than just being a Cousin. Travelers can earn by helping the Cool Cousin community. This can be in the form of pointing out inaccuracies, sharing the app with friends, uploading pictures of locations and reviewing the quality of Cousin recommendations from a user's point of view.

Businesses

Businesses will be able to manage their content on the platform if they are on a Cousin's go-to spot. Any promotional content will be clearly distinguished to ensure the users are able to separate it from organic content.

Cool Cousin & Blockchain

Cool Cousin is implementing blockchain for a number of reasons.

Prevent Commercial Manipulation

The Cool Cousin community will be able to control who thrives in the community. This means that a successful local business cannot pay to be rated higher than their counterparts. This distribution of power requires that the community has power over itself. The transparent and immutable nature of blockchain will play a key role in granting the community real control.

Fast & Convenient Payments

One of they key elements of the blockchain is its ability to perform financial transactions quickly and securely without being costly. The Cool Cousin ecosystem requires that payments can be made internationally to accommodate the traveler, while not charging them exorbitant banking and exchange fees.

The Cool Cousin ecosystem is powered by CUZ tokens. The CUZ tokens will enable use of in-app services on the platform. This includes and is not limited to tipping Cousins and getting detailed information.
