On an article published on the 12th July 2017 by Futurism.com , Karla Lant wrote that ConsenSys, famous Ethereum start up, is exploring a partnership and the creation of “Ethereum Island,” a blockchain technology hub with Mauritius!
ConsenSys founder Joseph Lubin and a team of executives have already toured Mauritius in early July to meet with the Bank of Mauritius, the country’s Board of Investment, and various authorities in both the public and private sectors.
Lubin stated that he expected to encounter significant enthusiasm… but they were overwhelmed with the excitement that they felt in every single meeting! He even said if Mauritius puts together a concerted effort to be a world leader, it will be!

On our online local newspaper, you can find photo of the meeting which was held in mid July! The Consensys delegation was led by Joseph Lubin, co-founder of Ethereum & Consensys, John Lilic, Director for Enterprise Business Technology Development, Strategy and Operations and Jeremy Millar, Chief of Staff at Consensys.

Already in May this year, Atma Narasiah, head of technology, innovation and services at the Board of Investment Mauritius said to Coindesk.com that
in its quest to become the blockchain hub of the Indian Ocean, Mauritius has issued an open call for innovators to take advantage of the country's new Regulatory Sandbox License (RSL).
The sandbox allows companies operating in areas such as financial, medical and communications technology to start operating despite the absence of a formal legislative or licensing framework.
"We've been receiving innovative project [proposals] over the years but couldn't execute them because of the gap in the regulatory framework. "So we came up with Regulatory Sandbox License to be able to catalyze the execution of these projects."
Modeled after similar approaches employed in Australia, Singapore and the UK, the RSL is open to all innovators, but there's an emphasis on attracting blockchain innovators across all verticals.
My last research brought me to the most recent report which appeared on the 26th July 2017 on the website of cryptoinsider! I quote : The little tropical paradise may very well soon become a big blockchain paradise.

Hmm, what are your thoughts, if I may ask, on EOS on which there are no fees or Rootstock, RSK, with 2 way pegged protocol, both allowing programmable value exchange?
