Omise Lands Strategic Investment From Thai Bank Krungsri

in #blockchain7 years ago (edited)

Omise has closed an undisclosed investment from the Thai bank Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya). Even if the invested amount is not disclosed, the investment is significant because the bank is part of the Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), which is valued around $19 billion and present in 50 countries worldwide.

Earlier this year Omise launched it's own cryptocurrency, OmiseGo and raised 20 million usd. The coin appreciated later on reaching a marketcap of over 1 billion.

I moved to Thailand 4 months ago, way better place than Canada haha. Although, this kind of goes against the actual core fundamentals of cryptocurrency, it's nice to see the crypto market starting to really thrive here in Thailand.. I think countries who are warming up to cryptos have a major advantage to countries making ridiculous limitations and/or even bans.

Thanks for the best put up! @steem-buzz
