As a booster to all investors in cryptocurrency in Nigeria and around the world, Dr. Okonjo has lend her voice to the rising positive profile of blockchain technology.
She made this known while addressing the menace of corruption in Nigeria and Africa at large. Dr. Okonja opined that, research has proven that the use of blockchain technology both in the public and private sector will to a large extent reduce or even eliminate the paversiveness of corruption in the polity.
There is no gainsaying that, blockchain technology is a transparent accounting system which operate an open ledger. It then means that the financial activities of any government or sector whether public or private can be seen by all and sundry.
Dr. Okonjo Iweala is the immediate past coordinating minister of finance and the economy of Nigeria under President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. She has equally served the country under President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Dr. Okonjo Iweala is good at whatever role she is given, she has held positions with the World Bank, African development bank(AFDB) and presently the head of GAVI an international vaccines alliance.
Her latest position on blockchain technology bourn out of the desire to help Africa fight corruption in a more technologically driven ways. She an authority that can not be waved off just like that in a matter of this nature.
Cryptocurrency is gaining momentum and the earlier the better for all the doubting thomases.
