IBM Has Set Up A System For International Money Transfers Using The Stellar Blockchain

in #blockchain5 years ago

I thought it could not get any more competitive in the payment sector but now you have IBM in the mix. According to this article they have created a system to send money internationally that is much more efficient than current systems. It makes sense to use crypto for banks and businesses on a global scale as it is easier and cheaper to send. All you need is a quick way to convert it into and out of the cryptocurrency and you have a much better system that places are using today.

I am curious to see who will use this. There is already ripple and banking coins trying to get their place in the new world of finance. And I think companies like Paypal and SWIFT better up their game soon or they will be in trouble.

Either way I hope to see fees going down for customers.

Ill have to admit I have never tried the stellar wallet, but I cant see pay pal being replaced anytime soon.

I have a hard time believing pay pal will ever be fully replaced as they have pretty decent customer service and claim disputes.

Stellar or ripple may replace pay pal, but only because some third party company comes along to facilitate the money transfers and resolve disputes.

IBM is also using the Stellar blockchain for supply chain solutions that can help corporations adopt the technology much easier. Lots of potential in the pipeline!
