Blocked In - A Blockchain Conspiracy

In a true capitalist society, everything is fair game. Fair being a word that is often thrown around and used lightly.

Everything has a price, and you can sell anything if you try hard enough.

You can't reinvent the wheel, the wheel is too simple; sure you can re-brand it - but at the end of the day, people can tell it's still a wheel.

The real money isn't in wheels, or housing, or even shops for that matter. The real money is in the wolds of law, finance and technology.

A group of powerful Japanese investors and CEOs are sitting around a huge, round boardroom table.

It was the final step in their plan to finally break into the finance industry - possibly even overhaul it.

"With control over the worlds monetary systems, we will all become huge players on an international scale."

The central figure touted.

The rest clapped profusely and roared with triumph.

"By convincing the public that they have an alternative to the banks that have ever so spectacularly failed them, we will not only be offering a service; we will also be taking money away from the banking industry to line our own pockets! If we weren't already running the banks I'd probably be even more excited!" He joked

Now the other board-members were hollering and slapping the fine oak table with excitement. Men who would usually remain composed and formal were giggling and hugging each other - no enthusiasm was spared.

"Today is the day that we sell blocks, bytes, ledgers and code - packaged in the form of freedom, individuality and resilience!"

On the 9th of January 2009, one year after the spectacular crash of the housing market, a peer-to-peer, decentralized cryptocurrency was published that would later revolutionize the finance industry.
