Why Blocktrades: Addendum

[I'm starting to feel like a one-man publicity department over here- but this is important, I think]

I posted a couple of days ago about how easy, quick and convenient Blocktrades is to use- today I want to talk about something even more important. If you still have any reservations about using them, this should dispel any and all doubts.

When I posted my plea for help the Steemit community stepped up big time! One friend in particular really went above and beyond (out of respect for this person's wishes, I won't mention names) and sent me a LOT of steem. way more than I felt transferring at one time- not out of mistrust of exchanges, but out of mistrust of my own computer abilities (this will become apparent in a minute). So, I transferred it 100 or 200 steem at a time. When it came down to the last 200, yesterday, I went to Blocktrades to put it on my Bitpay card.

I went through the normal procedure... I got the address from Bitpay, copied & pasted it into Blocktrades. I copied the address Blocktrades gave me and pasted it to my Steemit wallet. Usually, this whole procedures takes around 3 minutes until I get confirmation from Bitpay... they have a 15 minute invoice countdown. This time it counted all the way down and NOTHING! I looked on Blocktrades and it was like before... I went to my Steemit wallet and the 200 steem was gone. I sent Blocktrades support an email knowing it was Sunday and I'd probably have to wait until Mon. for a reply (I had forgotten the holiday).

I went back to my Steemit wallet and checked my transferral history... We all know the disclaimers that exchanges give us when transferring funds- "Make sure ALL information is correct" (or something along those lines). The address in my Steemit wallet looked wrong- it was the Bitpay address, not the one from Blocktrades. When I copied the one from Blocktrades, it didn't take (not the first time it's happened with my clunky old computer). It was my mistake!

I'm no hypocrite... I always tell people if you make a mistake- own it. You suck it up and live with the consequences. Bitterly disappointed (with myself for not checking) I went back to work on the post I was writing. Within 15 minutes- on a Sunday of a holiday weekend- I got a notification that I had received 200 steem from @blocktrades. Now that's integrity! If you're not using Blocktrades- I would seriously reconsider! (You can see my previous post for the tutorial)

Wow it is so nice to know that @blocktrades doesn't just pocket the money that people send incorrectly! Most exchanges would happily steal that from you! Go Blocktrades! I hope they keep adding currencies for the output.

There's a dropdown that shows all of the cryptos they trade.

Yeah I know about that, I'm saying I hope they add more to that drop down menu 😄 They have some of the most reputable coins there but it will be interesting to see if they add any others!

Thanks for the suggestion. I haven't used blocktrades.
I was doing transferring to an exchanger to set for a higher price value exchange.

I also want to express my gratitude about your donation.
Thank you Sir from my heart.
God Bless you.

I'll send more in a few days. I only had $48 in my wallet, I had cashed in too. I've been having some difficulties of my own. Steemit is an amazing community... I only hope they step up for you the way they did for me. I'm writing a post for tomorrow and when I'm finished I'll do one about you, maybe my followers will help.

As for Blocktrades, I wouldn't even think about an exchange now. There's a link to a tutorial by @cryptofiend on my previous post about Blocktrades. It's so easy to use and there's none of the hassles of an exchange. There's still a fee, but well worth it- you don't even need an account to use it. I do because I like to keep track.

Bless you my friend- You are in my prayers! I hope things turn out well and I'll do whatever I can to help!

You have a good point on blocktrades tho, convenient, and fast.

Sir @richq11 You're great even though you have also some problems of your own.
I am just thankful for your kind heart and it will surely help me from my miseries in life.
God Bless you and Keep you.

I read the Bible (probably not as much as I should) particularly the Gospels. My take on Jesus' message is to help one another- as much as we can. "Love thy neighbor as thyself." That's why we're here on this earth- to help one another!

I've done something similar TWICE and @blocktrades speedily rectified MY mistakes too. Loyal customer here!!!

Me too! I think everybody needs to know!

That sounds like outstanding customer service!!

I wouldn't think of using anyone else for transferring funds!

Good information to have @richq11 but there is still no way to turn sbd into cash with @blocktrades is there?

You need a debit card.

I have a debit card @richq11 wouldn't I need to transfer sbd to bitcoin then put that in a wallet then go to an exchange and then finally convert it? or is there a easier way now?

Blocktrades does that for you... All you need to do is get the address from your debit card and send it to blocktrades. If you read the tutorial on bottom of the post- it explains better than I can

Woww nice !!

I wouldn't even consider using anyone else now!
