The Group Stage analysis: Group C

With less than 24 hours until the biggest sports event of the year starts, we decided to bring you a small analysis of the 8 world cup groups and our predictions of how good they´ll do.

Now, we bring you Group C.

FRANCE:

Losing a Euro Cup final game being the host Nation is one of the few things that fans don't forget easily. For this world cup, the French team arrives highly motivated and determined demonstrate France is not only made up of a few starts, but that they have as a team the right mentality to go far on this tournament, and that they're still one of the the big teams around.

Griezman, Pogba, Mbappe, Lemar, Kante and Varane among others, are the names that will be defending France´s colors. This squad owes their fandom a big win and this is the best chance for them to deliver it.

Head Coach: Didier Deschamps
Captain: Hugo Lloris
Stars: Paul Pogba, Antoine Griezman
Worldcup´s Assistance: 15
Best performance ever: 1st place (1988)
How far they´ll go?: Semi finals

AUSTRALIA:

Perhaps on paper the Australian combined is the weakest link of the group, but it would be a mistake fro the other teams to be over-confident and to think the game against the australians will be a mere tramit... the world cup has a way of showing everyone that no game is won until its played, and there have been more than a few surprises in the past years; we´ve seen many times the giant beaten up by the underdog and Australia has way too much heart to be easily discarded.

Australia´s football history is a very peculiar one because even though they are part of the Oceania Confederation, due to the low football level shown by other the nations, they opted to rise their level and to play the qualifying matches against Asian teams, knowing it would be so much more harder for them to qualify but, when qualifying, their game level and experience would be completely different than when they used to play against Oceanic teams.

Head Coach: Bert van Marwijk
Captain: Mile Jedinak
Stars: Tim Cahill, Robbie Kruse
Worldcup´s Assistance: 5
Best performance ever: Best 16
How far they´ll go?: Group stage

PERU:

After 36 years of not swhowing up to the biggest party in the plane, Peru has no reason to settle for just participating and to think that just making a good show in the group stage will be enough. They have to think far ahead and be ambitious about their goals on this world cup and the players know it, the players know a while nation is expecting a good performance.

The controversy around Paolo Guerrero, suspended one year for doping, has every Peruvian fan worrying about their team and this whole situation involving their captain & main star. We are yet to see how the Peruvian team handles this situation in a big event like the world cup.

It will be interesting to see what Christian Cueva brings to the table; this player is currently playing on the Brazilian league and we are certain he will help carry the team on his shoulders along Raul Ruidiaz, who already counts more than 30 goals since he arrived to the Mexican League less than 2 years ago.

Head Coach: Ricardo Gareca
Captain: Paolo Guerrero
Stars: Christian Cueva, Paolo Guerrero
Worldcup´s Assistance: 5
Best performance ever: Best 8
How far they´ll go?: Group stage

DENMARK:

Denmark classified as the first place of its group lead by Christian Eriksen, who has been compared to Michael Laudrup by the local media; this comparison from the English Tottenham player might seem exagerated but, Eriksen matures every day that passes and its beggining to live up to the potential he showed in Ajax when he started playing.

Denmark´s play style is likeable and whoever sar their last preparation game against Mexico can´t deny that the vikings defend greatly and they manage nicely the transition from deffense to offense.

We are expecting this highly competitive team to have a good performance during this world cup, let´s see if we are right.

Head Coach: Åge Hareide
Captain: Christian Eirksen
Stars: Christian Eirksen
Worldcup´s Assistance: 5
Best performance ever: Best 16
How far they´ll go?: Best 16

Nice analysis, but I have a remark :France is 1 st in 1998. In 1988 there isn't World Cup.

Denmark is a team to watch out for.

This certain has good teams. Denmark will be a team to expect a good performance from. But i think the stronger contender of this group will turnout from the match between france and denmark. In my opinion, france will emerge tip of the group with denmark coming as second best. Nice analysis

You will have to hurry up if you want to finish before the start

France and Denmark are looking really formidable in this group, wishing all the teams good luck :)
