It's that time of the year when the Morel mushrooms are out

Well, it's April. That means lots of showers, blooming plants, and mushroom activity. It also means Turkey season down here. My dad and I took our campers out for a few days to go camping in the woods with the hopes of getting a turkey or 2. While we were out, we decided to look around for Morel Mushrooms since it's that time of the year. We ended up finding about 3 or 4 of them. If you have never had a Morel, you really should. They smell and taste absolutely amazing. They're pretty hard to find, but well worth if you actually take the time out to look for them. We took our few mushrooms, fried them up, and put them in some spaghetti we had in the camper. This was by far the best dinner I have had in a while! Sorry I don't have actual pictures of the mushrooms we found as my phone went for a swim in the lake 2 days ago and i'm currently trying to dry it out and get it to work again.morel-1336524_960_720.jpg

Very cool. Years ago I spent a summer in Idaho after they had a big forest fire up North in the state. We were finding up to 10-20 pounds per day and selling them to a local coop. Was really cool and man are they tasty!

what kind of mushrooms can you eat without getting sick from?

The most popular ones that are in season right now on the Morels(pictured) and chantrelles. Just make sure you look up how to properly identify them
