SARCASM AND SATIRE ARE DIFFERENTS!!

in #blog3 years ago (edited)

Hey There! How are you doing?
Have you ever heard the terms sarcasm, satire, or roasting? or have you ever tried to use the term in the internet world?

Okay, but many people misunderstand the difference between sarcasm, satire, and roasting. Although the goal is the same as satire the three things are different.

My friends trying to difference sarcasm, satire, and roasting, be like:

Sarcasm and satire are the same figure of speech, namely figure of speech to offend but subtly. Sarcasm is a figure of speech that says someone frankly. However, it remains limited with subtle language. It doesn't offend anyone with dirty words or swearing. Sarcasm itself is wrapped in subtle but frontal words.

Eg: Can you stop chasing and wishing she is loving you? you make yourself look pathetic mate.

While satire is a figure of speech that says something to someone in a closed and indirect way. This means that satire does not say someone directly like sarcasm but rather refers to it implicitly.

There is a difference between satire and sarcasm, in short, it is satire implicitly while sarcasm is explicit.

Eg: Your work is so good that I'd really like to get you to stop working for me.

And the last is Roasting.

Roasting in connotation or slang means criticizing someone harshly so that those who are criticized feel their blood boils because they feel made fun of rather than criticized.

Roasting is often used by StandUp Comedy to roast the interlocutor. Anyone can roast as long as both parties are ready for the heat and pain of roasting and no one is allowed to plant a grudge. The purpose of it all was just a joke.

So those are some actual explanations of sarcasm, satire, and roasting in language that is often found on the internet, especially memes.

Thank you for time I hope you are entertained with my post and also provide knowledge.
