.Whether Or Not

in #blogyesterday

This is how we have to feel about this issue. You're expressing compassion and understanding in ways that you revealed at times before you went in there. You've shown such growth and maturity and development and a commitment to better yourself in a way that every person, whether or not they ever go to jail, should always be looking to do.

So I just want you to know that I see this redemption arc for you. I think many of us do. I'm so thrilled that you're out now because whatever you needed from prison, it seemed to better yourself.

It just seems like you already developed that. And now it's your time to rise back up and actually be an impact on society in ways that are truly meaningful and beneficial to all of us, not just people here in this space or your friends, but to reach far beyond that. So my prayer for you, my brother, is that you continue in this redemption arc and that you're able to actually be that positive force on those who you hold nearest and dearest and in a wider and wider circle of people where you actually can better society in ways that I think you're in many ways uniquely positioned to do.

You know, good. That's very kind of you. And I want to say everybody has a streak of arrogance and of that self-aggrandizing, how can I say, habit, right? Me, me, me, me, me, me, me, poor me and self-victimizing.

It's all about me, me, me, me, me. And then the door shuts behind you, and you're forced to humbly look in the mirror, back at the band, and understand your predicament. And when you put yourself in that situation, you learn a great deal of do's and don'ts, but most importantly, you learn humility.
