Write exciting hot adventure blogs!

in #blog8 years ago

Pay attention to the characteristics of the place, and then mix in the drama you feel, so people can feel the spirit and ambiance of the adventure too.

Travel blogs shouldn’t be too long!

  • But long enough, for people to catch the `plot’ and excitement of the adventure.
  • Short sentences to create action to catch the hustle and drama of what’s happening. Look for and cut up sentences where possible to make your blog’s content more lively.
  • And short paragraphs to make it easy to read and follow through quickly.
  • Not too much detail either. Otherwise things begin to be too complicated and long-winded. Cut out unnecessary words where possible, to make things move on at a quicker exciting pace.

What grips people?

  1. Action is important: Because people are used to watching movies and videos where things are moving and happening fast, from one situation to another.
  2. Drama: Write like you’re right there experiencing minute-to-minute action and state of affairs. What the horrendous conditions were that people faced and how they handled it. ‘Paint’ the drama setting and atmospheric environment of the moment.
  3. Unusual way-out dynamic stuff: Pay attention to unusual activity when traveling. So when you do write up the trip, express how you felt about what was happening and how you re-acted to it. So people will understand just how things actually happened and what you were up against.
  4. Emphatic stuff: People relate to emotional and sensational stuff. Why? Because unconsciously we use our senses, emotions and feelings to assess and understand situations.
  5. Be human. Write about things people can relate to. It could be everyday occurrences but occur in illogical circumstances. Add saucy remarks to the mix. People love to laugh at the ridiculous things people say and do.
  6. Feed the soul, by satisfying people’s desires: Write about things that they too, would like to do or go to see those places for themselves. You are fulfilling their travel desires by giving them a chance to see to the world through your eyes.
  7. Thrill of the ambiance: People want to feel the atmospheric sensation of the place. But be careful not to get carried away with whole paragraphs filled with descriptions. Just an expressive word or two fitted-into the action of what happened.
  8. Adding spice: Thrilling titbits of info. Adding something that’s tantalizing, intriguing, exciting, or completely unexpected.
  9.  Seeing is believing: Whatever fascinates you, it may captivate others too. If you’re an artist, this is your time to shine. If you have a phone with a camera, you can use it to add visual power to your blogs. If you have a lot of photos, don’t add them one at a time. Block some of them into collages. This prevents the blog from looking so long.

PS: Your experience may not have all or any of that stuff. But if you stop to think about things, you can upbeat the blog with your feelings to what happened. Feisty remarks and your personal `spin’ to it… The way and how you write it, is very important.

Remember you are talking to real live thinking people. You’re not writing to stiff wooden dolls!

People love to compare:

Give descriptions so people can compare! Write in such a way, that you create visions within people’s minds. It allows them to grasp and understand how things are really like.

They compare your adventure, to their own hum-drum existence, 8-5 job, etc. Your lifestyle provides a pleasant escape from their usual boring life.

Share you shining moments with others:

My husband has asked me, how I remember things about our trips:

When you do go places, absorb the ambiance of what you see and the thrill of your feelings. Savour each moment. The emotional impact will help you to remember things along the way; that you can use and write about later.

  • Those shining moments, are what people are looking for when they read blogs!
  • Life can be an adventure, if you look at life that way

Sorry note:

I previously promised to write how you can write travel blogs, even if you’ve never been out of your own country.

The excuse: This present blog got too long. And now thinking about it, that topic can be an extensive one and better to suited having its own full blog. So… I will give it to you in the next one on travel blog tips.

I agree with all your words! Personally, I liked your 'God forsaken' description on your New Zealand Journey! You caught the atmosphere great in that article!

I too love to see life as an adventure. Especially these days people are so stuck in fear even in seemingly most ridiculous trifles, that all is done to remain in control of life circumstances. Seeing life as an adventure allows for much more flexible adaption to curveballs and lets us see the learning lessons which help us grow!

Thanks for sharing!

Love your input. While I'm breathing, I try to think and act alive. I think been an artist, it also gives me a more awareness of my surroundings. So wherever I go (our children lives in such diverse places) each moment is like been on an adventure to me. So I always take my camera with me, you never know what you'll see around each corner. This all makes my life alive and exciting.

Great tips for creating a blog about traveling.

Pay attention to the characteristics of the place, and then mix in the drama you feel, so people can feel the spirit and ambiance of the adventure too.

The first words objectively explain the essence. I like that you briefly and in detail explain to us how right and inefficiently to issue a message about travel. I have a desire to travel around the world. But while I do not have enough time and money to do it.
Nevertheless, I plan to talk about the beautiful places of my country. Therefore, your advice otlchino me in this will help.
I look forward to continuing this series of tips.
Thank you

So the next blog on writing about your own country, as a travel experience, will be an insight into how you could do it.

i always found it difficult to express actions ,drama ,feelings into words.
i will take alot of positives from this post
to shape my travel blogs in future
some strong suggestions are available there
thanks for such an inspiring post

The reason you found it hard to write action packed stuff, is the fact most people don't feel deeply about what they see or what's happening. Your personal feelings have a great impact on how you think and write. That is, the way you think is the way your thoughts go when writing. I hope you understand what I mean.

totally agree
yeah that is also my problem
i never feel things deeply..
hopefully i will keep learning more and more from you
