DIY Floral Decor

Since I’m into arts and crafts, it’s been my passion producing handicrafts.
Well, you may or may not into it, but I guarantee you that a little knowledge about such things could save you. Why a little? It’s because your innate creativity will do the rest. Do not limit yourself into one handiwork, go and explore others. It’s fun! It even emits positivity.

Decoration is a part of birthdays and other celebrations.
It depends on the occasion or the theme of the party.
Most importantly, it depends on one’s budget.

Say good bye to expensive and extravagant party decorations.
Welcome the world of creativity!

Today I’m going to teach you how to create your DIY floral décor.
First, pick up your notepad and pen, then read on.

Prepare the following materials.
1 ream of colored papers
a pair of scissors
a glue
a chocolate foil/ milk foil/ or any foil wrapper

Procedure:

  1. Get 3 of the same pastel/light colored papers.
  2. Fold them once and draw an oval/egg shape on just one paper.
(You may draw a big oval shape to each paper. Utilize the whole folded paper.)
  3. Cut out the shape.
(You will notice you got 6 petals. Set them aside.)
  4. Get another 2 colored papers. This time, darker than the first 3.
  5. Fold them twice.
(One paper would have 3 columns.)
  6. Do the same thing, draw and cut them out.
(Make sure that the oval shape you’ve drawn is smaller than the first 3. Set them aside.)
  7. Get 1 dark colored paper, darker than the second group of petals.
  8. Fold them once horizontally and twice vertically.
  9. Draw an oval shape then cut them out.
  10. Get 1 dark colored paper.
  11. Draw a 6-inch circle and cut it out.
(It will serve as the base.)
  12. Draw a 1 ½ inches sun or circle on the foil and cut it out.

Phew! Done with cutting.
Let’s now move to pasting.

  1. Gather the first 6 big petals.
  2. Paste a petal on the curve of a round shape paper (the base).
  3. Pour a small amount of glue on the side of the petal to connect it with other petals.
  4. Do the same thing for the rest of the petals.
(The 6 medium size and 6 small size petals)

Take a look at my sample.
