I find travelling one of the worse hobby one could have.
when one travels, everything is superficial, curated, the top end of the top end.
experiences that one gets from these trips are for entertainment not for growth.
once one gets home, not a single skill can be integrated to one's daily life.
Like a fantasy world that doesn't translate well to the real world.
it's a self validating hobby, not an enriching one.
BUT-
to escape the world and enter a fantasy world with people you want to spend time is another matter entirely.
companionship, the bonds get stronger, experiences are shared.
although I can argue that you can do this with every other hobby as well.
Travel is redundant.
I think it depends on where you are traveling and who you are meeting with. I'm not talking about the routine travels that people do from time to time to visit those same old tourist spots.
Some journeys just changes people!
