There's also another option. What if the posts didn't appear in the blog or all posts, but their own "tab", sort of like the wallet, payout, etc in the @peakd design? In short, make them available but not a reflection on the blogging aspect?

I find it funny that, on the one hand, people think it's OK to have videos, pictures etc., with little to no text and tell me that Hive is a "Media Platform" and then, with the next breath, complain about Memes and short Twitter'esk messages. If Hive is a "Blogging Platform", then all the other crap we see on Hive should go and form their own service like Blurt. 😈

I really think tabs are the answer. Aren't our comments in a different tab? This would allow a reader to browse without running into unwanted content.

Maybe even an option could be built into the follow system to exclude those posts. Some can't deal with the bandwidth demands of video, so the video only posts could use a filter too.
