This is a good post. Thank you for taking care of your patient. Someone close to me has bipolar and what is stated is true. I saw the person close to me change, and it is scary as of now. There is hope as well.

Yeah, most of them don't seek help early so people are conditioned for a long time that them being easily irritable or in their manic state is their personality but it's just the disorder. Reminds me of a patient that is hypersexual when not treated but tends to be prim and proper when they are on medications, and they know exactly what they're doing but couldn't help it when in manic state or depressed. I say once the disorder gets treated and resolved, the real person comes out.
