Just when I thought I was out…

…they pull me back in.

Yes, the Twitter Mafia got to me and I just couldn't stay away. Despite previously swearing off the platform, I couldn't ignore enough news to not feel like I had to comment on the issues of the day. (Everyone's a pundit these days, amirite?)

While I gave a fair shot to a number of different platforms (Kuende, Murmur, Minds, Narrative, Sense, Sociall, Sphere.Social, and more…) each with its own unique set of features, none were quite like Twitter—and not only because there were significantly fewer users on each platform, making it a very different experience to begin with. (For what it's worth, I plan to continue using Kuende. I think it's fun. 😊)

No, unfortunately decentralized social media hasn't reached mass adoption yet. I did write a brief article about some of the different platforms' features, and I would definitely keep an eye on these platforms going forward. For now, however, it looks like I'm sticking with Twitter for my microblogging needs, keeping Steemit (and now D.Tube!) for longer-form blogging and video uploads, and Kuende for their fun challenges. 😉

One change I made to my Twitter account:

I look forward to conversing with any of you on any of my mentioned, preferred platforms! My favorite topics are politics, Phish (and music, in general—but especially Phish), Bitcoin/cryptocurrencies/blockchain, and long walks on the beach…or through the woods! 😅
