You can see here pictures of Creeping zinnia which is also known under the scientific name Sanvitalia procumbens and originally comes from Central America where it is particularly popular in Mexico as well as Guatemala and during the 17th century, it also came to Europe, where it quickly became more and more popular. One of the most interesting properties is probably that it is an extremely robust and resistant plant that which is easy to care for and because of the warmer origin, it is important to regularly supply it with enough water and it is important to be especially careful to avoid waterlogging. It is best to choose a location in the sun and it is important to know an annual plant that is not hardy, but it can still be worthwhile to put it in the bed or on the balcony because it spreads by itself over the seeds and in order to be able to harvest your own seeds it is recommended to leave a few inflorescences before playing with the thought to cut it back. From an ecological point of view, it can be a great enrichment and especially the long flowering period from June to late in the year makes it an important source of food for various species of insects such as bees, bumblebees, butterflies and it is also one of the plants that offers food for different species of wild bees, which unfortunately become increasingly rarer and are even completely threatened with extinction in some places.
