Since I've been sewing myself, I've lost all fun in buying clothes. I used to love shopping, but now I just see the clothes racks as a source of inspiration for what I could make myself. I can watch hours of videos in which costume designers demonstrate their art and skills and never get enough of them. I love hearing the sounds of the scissors as they cut through the fabric, the sewing machine or sewing needle as it pricks through the cloth. The quiet breath of the doer.
