Italy seems to be using the French logic - Piss off the unvaxinated, the rules seem to keep getting stricter and stricter :(
On the whole not an issue but as I commented in my last post I rely on public transport and at the end of this month most shops will require the basic pass including the tobacconist, I am happy(ish) to get the required swab and go once a week, however it seems tobacconists are (or have) going on strike to fight this. My usual tobacconist has told me that they will never ask me so not sure if the rules have changed or if they are going WAY above and beyond!
Last week I went to my usual local bar to gab a coffee with a friend, I read the rules before leaving, I read the rules posted on the front door, I KNOW I'm not allowed to drink at the bar/counter but the lady behind the bar insisted on SCREAMING at me, if she'd waited 2 seconds I would have asked for 2 coffees to take away. Same lady SCREAMED at me a month ago for sitting on a stool when my leg hurt! I've checked the rules, says nothing about sitting! Guess I'm not going back to that bar... Ever! Oh and whilst I was there an old lady was refused access to the toilet, again I checked, NOT IN THE RULES!
In contrast to the above bar I've been to 2 others, the 1st apologised about the rules but said we are welcome, honestly it was heart warming, the 2nd insisted we drink at the bar, I suspect this was illegal and made me nervous but again being made to feel welcome!
I won't name any of the shops/bars, good or bad but it's shocking how different people are enforcing the rules. I was planning to get the f out of Dodge after the first incident, now we'll have to see.
