Something from my bar whenever I feel like it episode CCCLXV

Episode 365!!!

Yep one episode for every day of the year (unless it's a leap year). No it hasn't been a year yet. There have been many bonus episodes so still some time to go before hitting a year. For this episode I'm forgoing the normal Sunday stein/mug/glass episode for a special edition. This one is one of my bars. It's not my main bar maybe you will see that in a future episode. This is an old 60's style bar. Not sure if it's from the 60's but I know it's at least from the early 70's. It's a big wall unit with bar, display shelves and even a fireplace.

With the lights turned on.

The backs of the sides are painted mirrors. You probably recognize many of the things on the shelves from previous episodes. Still a few things left that haven't been in one yet. Below the shelves are speakers (with the fabric over them) and hidden cabinets. No handles you have to push in the right spot and they pop open. Good for hiding the good booze I suspect.

There is a "fireplace" at the bottom. Of course it's fake. It works off of a rotating drum and light to make it appear to be glowing wood embers. The reflection of the light on the back sort of resembles flames. Not so much with the lights on though. Even the dim ones I have kill that effect.

The doors open to reveal the bar part of the unit. There are shelves up to for glasses, bottles, well whatever. On the sides are slots for 8 bottles of wine/champagne. When you open it the lights at the top come on automatically. They are separate from the lights on the outside and fireplace.

On the lower part of the inside there is a stereo with a turntable beside it. As far as I know it still works. I fixed it and wired it up when I first moved in. Never tried playing a record but the turntable did spin at what appeared to be a normal speed and touching the needle made well that terrible scratching sound through the speakers.

There is a drop down shelf for serving drinks. Behind it is a compartment for booze and glasses.

So there you have it one old bar. Still in great condition. It's a great place to display some of my collectibles. And yes I do leave those "Christmas" lights up all year round. They highlight some of my pictures and add some light and color to the bar. Did have a set going across the top of that bar too but they got annoying so when they burned out I didn't put them back up.
