Halter or a gentle lead is historically known as a hackamore and makes it so that if my critter pulls they turn their nose.
A sharp jerk can be a signal to behave. Or the jerk followed by holding the pressure can instantly turn a horse. Let alone the nearly 100 lbs of German shithead at full misbehaving...
Which is exactly why I use it. It maintains complete and total control over my dog.
And my dog isn't able to defend himself because if I'm hanging on to him the pressure keeps his mouth closed. Necessitating if I understand that my dog is being attacked that I need to protect him. In fact my dog will actually look to me and beg for guidance. If I tell him to deal with it that's exactly what he's got to do he's got to stay there and he's got to let another unknown dog intrusively sniff on him.
If he is being attacked I'm going to defend my dog and I absolutely will tear up and destroy any threat to my dog.
I used to use one I made myself, where I could adjust it so it was impossible to prevent the dog from being able to fully open his mouth (short of holding onto the mouth loop part) and yet still maintain full control. It rides closer to the eyes when pulled though, so it's all about finding the right balance :)

Nope I bought a video game for my Nintendo switch which is a lot cheaper.
Wow did not knew you had a nintendo switch as I have heard it is really cool and fun device.
Yes I have a huge list of games for it and the Star wars game is my first digital game. We will see how it works out.
And got it because it runs Skyrim. Of course the ark survival evolved game got updated and is awesome. About to get the extra maps next month I'm thinking.
