RE: Perspective on Steemit as a User and Investor

in #blog6 years ago

I think this platform is an investment platform, pure and simple. You invest your time, you invest your money, you invest your talents, and you invest in people. And depending on how you invest any or all of that, you adjust what you do and where you spend your time accordingly.

And there's nothing wrong with that. Just because this site can be social, doesn't mean that's all STEEM is meant for. If/when these other promised things drop (Hivemind/Communities, HF 20, SMTs), if they actually fulfill their promises, they will radically change the face of Steemit, and the complexity of the STEEM ecosystem. It won't just be about creating, commenting and curating. It will include products and services found on the blockchain and off that will allow STEEM to become a global currency.

So, do what you got to do @beeyou. I've felt the wearing down and the enthusiasm fading with each successive post and comment from you. I miss that from the very first days you were on the site and when you jumped in with both feet into these other initiatives. I think they've taken far too much of a toll too quickly, along with your real world activities, which in my mind will almost always take greater importance.

So, do what you got to do, and don't feel bad. Not for us. Not for the platform, not for you. I know where your heart is. The plain and simple truth is, there isn't much reward (as in STEEM) in helping newbies. They don't control enough of the rewards. Not now. They're the investment you've been making in the future, along with the curation you've been fraction by fraction accumulating.
