When you walked out those doors, you connected with what I can only imagine was another dad . And I think that was a beautiful way to share how human connection can work when we soften and lean into each other rather than harden and lean away from each other. And I really appreciate you starting that. And it was an excellent example of radical forgiveness.
SourceSarah, your wounds are so fresh. This was just three weeks ago, I think you said. And I had a wound from my father, who took about 30 years for me to process through. That didn't mean that for three years I was tired. Angry or bitter, we had a beautiful relationship in and out of those 330 years, but it was something that happened to me when I was 15 that I didn't understand until I was 40. Something that a father would do that I, as a daughter, didn't understand.
And it took me that long to understand it. Once I did, it didn't make what he did right, but I understood it from his perspective. And I was able to let that go and restore that daughter's heart in me that he had moved.
So especiallyy give yourself patience and time to work through that and allow yourself to bring through to feel those emotions. You're also still early in the grief process. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. And that can make forgiveness complicated. So take the time that you need for that. No, forgiveness is in a hurry. Forgiveness can take, you know, and the Bible at 77 * 7 right? And so.A nd it can take years, and that's OK.
