RE: Rainy Day in A Tinyhouse

in #blog8 years ago

Sweet, tiny homes/alternative living spaces are so interesting. And since they started to become popular in 1986 (i think it was) the technology for them has exploded ! So many options now for power electricity, bathrooms etc. Trailer verse no trailer.

Very cool that you are living this way!

I went to a few seminaries and did a bunch of research for about a year in prep for maybe building my own tiny house. Unfortunately, the more I dove into it the more I came to realized it wasn't going to be possible to do so in my city( well, it would be way to much trouble).

Although changes are being made the municipality is not yet fond of the idea, nor are they really interested in ppl not purchasing debt...i mean family size homes ;)

Truth be told there are also lots of zoning and health concerns to consider.

One day, I will definitely get there!

Thank you @jaybird
We love this life and would recommend it to any one, we build this on a truck because it's so much easier getting around compared to a travel trailer.
It sucks that there is so many laws that stop you from living your dream, I have never been one to follow rules and I would have just done it anyway, if they come knocking you just move somewhere else ;)
Thanks for stopping by

I hear ya. I guess I just recognized that it wasn't the right time (and probably place) for me to do it. In Canada, we only have a bout 6-8 months of the year to work on it bc of the weather (unless u have an indoor space) so that is also a huge problem since it would take me over a year to build.

I work as a musician and need to live close to the city for now.

I would build mine in a semi trailer though and then plant it somewhere. I don't think mine would be super mobile. If you need to move it though, u can higher a driver.
