It's been a long time since I shared my story, let me tell you about my friends' struggle to become champions in the rafting championship between districts, Aceh Province.
The race had almost started and there were almost no athletes to represent, on the initiative of our rafting guide friends we formed a team to select several school students who would be coached to become athletes to represent Bener Meriah Regency.
this place is a cultural heritage and a tourist destination location for the Traditional House in the Bener Meriah Area which became our first meeting point to determine the strategy.
there is no effort that does not produce results, is a temporary parable this time.
with a little guidance we ask for the help of fellow students to socialize to high school and hope to get a lot of sympathizers from students to take part in the selection of athletes repre
and we managed to gather a number of prospective athletes who will represent the Regions, for our first practice starting from the breath test and physical endurance, also teach them how to use the rafting equipment.
They consist of high school students, with the enthusiasm they show there seems to be hope of winning a championship, even though they are all amateurs who have never had experience in rafting at all.
prospective athletes are guided by my friend who is a mountain guide who already has a lot of experience and knowledge in training physical endurance.
after the physical training is finished they are immediately taught the technique of rowing in the river, because the first lesson in rowing technique is the basis of strength and teamwork to get used to situations in the river
It can be seen that they are still not used to using the rowing technique because it is the first time trying it, but this is deliberately done so that they are used to understanding the meaning of the rowing technique.
Rowing training is assisted by a Rafting guide, namely Mr. Artup, he is a senior guide from a neighboring district who deliberately came to help us train these children.
because competition day is not far away, we must have an effective way to teach them to quickly get used to rafting, because later there will be 3 classifications of head to head, slalom and down river races, they also have to be told the technicalities. assessment in the rules of the game.
It can be seen that they really enjoyed the training process, tired and mixed with fighting spirit for the sake of their beloved region.
After feeling enough with today's exercise they are gathered to evaluate the results of the exercise.
The match starts around 5 days away, I thought it would be impossible to guide them to become the Champion in the Competition later, but that's just my pessimism towards their current ability.
the next day with the beauty and coolness of the surrounding nature it makes yesterday's fatigue disappear, here we camp on the banks of the river with the feel of rushing river water relaxing the mind and brain to shine.
This place also provides family camping grounds for local and outside visitors, this area has a river flow and is swift and slightly wide, very good for getting used to athletes testing adrenaline so they don't panic syndrome.
On the second day the athletes focused on physical endurance training, they had been running a marathon since dawn while I had just woken up, and my friends were already waiting to have a strategy discussion.
They look like they are learning Shaolin Kung Fu, I really appreciate the enthusiasm of these brothers and sisters with limited time from practice to competition they have to work hard to get the results they are aiming for.
on the second day I didn't take many photos because of other activities.
I will tell the story again in the next post, I thank those of you who have read this post, this story is a true story of the struggle of our foster brothers who will compete in the rafting championship between districts in Aceh.
