For today's weed news we go all the way to Israel.

Already known for it's progressive stance on medical marijuana research, Israel took a major step forward towards decriminalizing recreational cannabis use.

A bill that would make simple possession and use of cannabis punishable by a $250 fine for first time offenders, double for second-time offenders and not subject to criminal proceedings until the 4th offense of such kind received unanimous support during its first reading and Israel's parliament this week.

Although it still has two more readings before it will become law, this bill is supported bye everyone including is reels public security minister who thinks that it can reduce the harms of drug usage and avoid making recreational cannabis consumers into criminals.

This comes as a joy to many in the country as almost 9% of all Israelis use cannabis and over 25,000 have a license for medical marijuana.

Great article. keep the awareness coming lets grow this cannabis community on steemit.

Legalize it and make sure the sick have access. All this wasted tax money for government isn't good. That should be for the healing and schools! Charge a college kid tax! But the medicine should be available for any cancer patient. Keep the medicine in the hands of patients! Expand patients rights for medicine!

Yessir! I also think its important that at least mmj patients get grow rights, like you said - to keep it in the hands of the patients.
