RE: Adventures Trying to Buy a Mattress and Rollerblading in Montreal

in #blog8 years ago

Do you only read the positive reviews, often from people who have not used the product for long enough? The link I gave was to the 1 star rating reviews. Good for you if the mattress is good for you, but I'm not taking the chance.

Sort:

I looked at all the reviews as I wanted to see what issues people were having that gave 3 stars or less. When researching a mattress, I went into it knowing that everyone has different preferences, seeing as some people prefer hard vs. soft and it is very difficult to accommodate two people who prefer different types. BUT, out of 2,316 people, only 4% gave one star (that's only about 92 people). 8% gave 2-3 stars (185 people). And the majority, a whopping 74% gave 5 stars (1,713 people). Compared to way more expensive mattresses with equal or worse reviews, $400 bucks for a Cal King was an easy decision. We like it so far and have no complaints. Here is a review from a guy who has had it for over 15 months who seems quite happy. https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R27R094VW7FXXK/ref=cm_cr_getr_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B013L4ZWWW

Sweet, thanks. What do you use it for? Back or side sleeping? It seems very soft, sinking.

I tend to sleep on my stomach or side and my wife sleeps on her side. Occasionally I will sleep on my back, but not as much. It is soft but I wouldn't say you sink in to it. I read some reviews of people either saying it was too hard or too soft so they just put a mattress topper on it and they were satisfied. Like I said, a Cal King for only $400 is unheard of. I used to sell furniture and we had a mattress department and some of them cost upwards of 10K. That is asinine. Even the low end ones were a grand. I suppose it might not last as long as some of the others, but for $400, I can just buy a new one every 5 years :) Best of luck with your decision!

The warranty says 10 years, do you know what it covers? Like .75 inch sag in the middle? I heard if you buy mattresses from amazon you don't get the original warranty from the manufacturer, and have to go through amazon. Just wondering if you know anything about that. Thanks.

TBH I didn't really look into the warranty. I saw the price. I saw and read up on the reviews which I gauged to be mostly positive. I saw the it was made in the USA which I loved. All that combined sold me. On top of that, I wouldn't have been able to fit a standard Cal King up my stairs without it being in a box as this was.
