Manditory masks, life on the street in Spain

I woke up this morning nice and late in the shade over building where I slept last night. I didn't get to ask everyone in the squat last night if I could stay the night again so I couldn't stay, plus there was another guest already staying there in the room I was in.

The squat..
Just off of the Plaza was a nice place to sleep. It was so hot last night even at 3am. you can lean against the wall or put your hand on it and even if it wasn't in direct sunlight for long, the heat is still there for hours after.

IMG_20200719_001313.jpgA nice place to chill out of site, it was under construction and so I knew I would disturb or be disturbed.

It hasn't happened for a while but I woke up this morning with f****** sciatica. It must just be me mishandling my rucksack that did it because I haven't done anything else.

I've come to get a cup of tea at the cafe down the little street back onto the plaza. It's annoying to get sciatica, it paralyses my rib cage and stomach muscles and if I move wrongly then it fucking hurts alot so it's hard to move at all. I think actually that the bed I slept in at the Spanish girls house also contributed to this happening.

I left my heavy things in a wardrobe in the squat last night and that's just as good as staying there. I have nearly everything I own in the rucksack, and it's already like 40% lighter since having to stop travelling with bike but still it's around 20kg in total.

Siesta spot for te day, leaving as a storm approached..

The day was nice, I spent the hot hours under a tree in the park after getting told by a police officer to put a mask on whilst sat on the street, who admitted he is upholding rules that make no sense at all.

When I suggested these rules were Facist like Franco was, the policeman got angry and got out the car and said "Franco is in history, its not the same now", well I think he said that. He then demanded my passport and did a check on me. He relaxed though and drove of after I sat back down gagged.

As I got up to go somewhere out of the public, a black guy walked past sporting a BLM mask which confirmed that I cant even sit and watch people anymore these days because its just driving me nuts.

I just spent some time looking for a cheap Airbnb since my back is fucked and escaped the park as a storm approached. I walked past Granada main hospital, which of course was silent and not much action going on.

The first test tent I have seen with my own eyes aswell, and ofcourse it looks derilict already. I wasn't brave enough to go look to see if anyone was even inside.

For now I think I will go to the coffeeshop and see if its open.

i hope things improve over there in spain

Yeh so do I! I'm getting outta here never to return, I'm just waiting to see the Canna doctor and then Wednesday I start with car sharing back to North Denmark and Norway to build build build 😜

sounds great :D

It will get fucked up in no time 😂 I hope I get out smoothly but who knows haha!

Hope the sciatica goes away quickly mate.

Yeh it went by the next morning after multiple hours of stretching and pressing with my thumb behind my back 😊 got the hang of it a while ago after being alone when it happens and getting paralysed on the floor haha

You still in Granada, it's so bloody hot here. I heard that they may be closing the border to France soon, so get out quick x

I'm with you brother.

Things are progressing well here in Mexico. We just completed the install of a solar pumping system to move water from the river to a large irrigation tank. I've also been transplanting several papaya trees every day from a crowded container into separate ones. I think I'll have around 100 by the time I'm done. Stuff grows so fast here it's crazy. I've never seen anything like it.

I'm not sure if I shared our website with you so here it is (https://www.ranchomukuna.org/) in case you need some motivation to keep yourself moving to Liberstad!
