Red Ginger

in #blog4 years ago

Hi.

Welcome to my blog.

A few days ago I used a photo of this flower in one of my posts, at that time I did it because I loved the color and the shape of the petals of it, I thought it was a good choice to make my post look good. However, at that time I had no idea what kind of flower it was and today I would like to share some information about it.

Alpinia purpurata, red ginger, also called ostrich plume and pink cone ginger, are native Malaysian plants with showy flowers on long brightly colored red bracts. They look like the bloom, but the true flower is the small white flower on top. Source

I did not observe any white flowers on this plant at the time the photos were taken, however, the shape of the leaves and the red bulb are identical to those of the red ginger plant, so I do not doubt that it is. I will keep an eye out when I'm around this place again and maybe I'll be lucky enough to take a photo of the white flower that Wikipedia writes about.

Have you seen this flower before?

Thank you so much for stopping by.

With love,

Rima.

Hola.

Bienvenidos a mi blog.

¿Has visto esta flor antes?

Muchas gracias por pasar por aquí.

Con cariño,

Rima.

Yeah, those flowers look really pretty.
I think it is similar to turmeric flower.
