RE: What Happens When Everyone Can Create Content?

in #blog • 7 days ago

I was going to say my narcissistic trait is that I stopped caring but I'm not sure if that's narcissistic or the opposite XD

Sibling dearest and I were saying it was so annoying how AI caused us to second guess whether or not we wanted to "waste" time interacting with it if it is and not disclosed (she hates all generative AI content and I will interact with it if it was actually used as a tool rather than the entire means to get the end product, and my definition for that is very narrow, or alternatively if it actually looks very interesting to me AND the person disclosed that they used AI). I have actually just skipped over a lot of snaps that "look" AI generated and feel kind of bad in case they are actual people who just happen to have read too many marketing blogs (it's that kind of vibe).

One thing that prevents me from bothering when I know it's generated by prompts than manual skill is how the conversation would reach a dead end faster. I like to discuss technical skill, brush work, composition, and how the hell each part makes up the whole by intent in the process but AI removes those things and just feels their prompts. I can't build on what the AI feels for other people's prompts so it's just a waste of time.

I have to say I have not had those types of conversations for a long time O_O but I find both myself and the other party have this really bad habit of dead ending conversations really quickly (either because we don't know how to continue it or there doesn't seem like there's much left to discuss).
