You're right but why is it this way? I mean why don't we care about eating healthier foods when we are younger? I used to believe it was due to the parents eating the wrong foods around the children but now i am older i see this isn't true. My two have watched me eating tons of fruit and veg all their lives (just more since i turned 50) but they still aren't interested. I suppose if we lived in a forest and there were no other options they would accept it. Alas, we still live near shops so the naughty habits continue.
Many thanks for the congratulations and we look forward to another decade of blogging. Hopefully the children will start blogging in their own account @esteban-luna which was set up for this purpose a long time ago.
Based on my own experience, when we’re still young, we tend to feel strong and almost invincible. We think that conditions like high cholesterol, high triglycerides, high blood pressure, and other illnesses commonly associated with old age are still far from us.
Since we feel healthy and strong, and we don’t experience any symptoms or health problems yet, we tend to eat whatever we want even if we know it isn’t necessarily healthy. To be honest, unhealthy food often tastes better, too, which makes it even harder to resist.
But as we get older, health problems can start to catch up with us. That’s when many of us begin shifting toward healthier food choices. Sometimes, it’s not necessarily because healthier food tastes better, but because our bodies already need it.
I guess that’s one of the realities of getting older, we start making healthier choices not just because we want to, but because we have to.
Hopefully, I’ll get to read their stories soon.
