RE: Time for media fasting

in #blog7 years ago

Wishing you same, negative information seem to sell the most that is why the social media is bombarded with it. Let us take an hypothetical example -300 women gave birth to healthy babies yesterday and the doctors predicted that these children will be very strong, almost like superhumans and they would be strong up till their old age- That is a great positive news. On the other hand, let us see a hypothetical negative news. - 300 women gave birth yesterday in a village hospital, there was an animal attack last night on the hospital, 50 of the babies were eaten by lion, 50, were swallowed by huge pythons, and 50 were trampled upon as a result of stampede of people trying to escape from the scene- Such kind of negative news is going to make headlines throughout the world and be the talk of the day for over a month.
I think the problem is how we respond to negative news that is why those who wants to gain more media attention will spend more energy in searching for negative news to post than positive once
