If you’re a creator, you’re probably familiar with the challenges of getting your work “out there.” Streaming services, such as Apple’s iMovie, Amazon, and Hulu, are incredibly difficult to break into, and tend to accept more mainstream, commercial content. Digital distribution platforms such as YouTube have their own tyrannies, most notably, creators are ultimately beholden to advertisers for compensation instead of to their audience.
By building a platform that is truly peer-to-peer, we empower creators to connect directly with interested fans and earn rewards through POP Token micropayments, eliminating the need for expensive subscriptions and reliance on ad dollars.

If you’re a fan, you’re probably immensely frustrated by the constant advertisements interrupting your online viewing experience. Many of you probably use ad blockers to get around this disruption. Equally aggravating are the price tags associated with paid subscription services. If you only really like Game of Thrones on HBO, it feels a bit unfair to have to pay $15/month for a subscription that covers a bunch of content you don’t watch.
When POP Network launches its blockchain-based platform this summer, you’ll be able to watch exactly what you enjoy ad-free and support your favorite creators with micropayments. There are other ways for you to earn rewards as well, such as curating and sharing your favorite content and enabling your device to participate in serving video content on the distributed network.
Additionally, you may find content on POP not available anywhere else. Are you a fan of Korean soap operas? A refugee’s personal documentary? Indie films not picked up by any of the big streaming services? You just might find them on POP.
