Blogger.com has added a new Beta feature to their Compose View menu that lets you add search references to popular people, locations, pop-culture and more to your posts. You can get a search preview or a link. The features do not seem to be available for all users. Among my blogs, only one of them has the feature available. And even with that, only the search previews are available, not the linking.
Obviously, this is a self-serving feature for Google to have blogs direct traffic back to the search engine. I don't know that this is necessarily a bad thing. Certainly, it's not a great thing. Typically, links from your blog post are the currency of the Internet. If your blog has clout, it gives some of that to the target of your link. But these links only go to Google searches.
On the other hand, it does make your posts more useful to readers, making it easier to search for some of the things you are discussing.
I'm half and half on this feature. I could see the good and the bad.
