Why Blogging is dying

in #blogging6 years ago

Blogging. Blogging can be an extremely profitable thing if done right. People have written blogs about their travels around the world and from this earn 6 figures. This can be from affiliate marketing, Advertisments and donations alone.

Now I bet you’re thinking great, where do I sign up? Well here’s the issue. While blogging can be successful, it is oversaturated and expensive now. The increased demand in more visually pleasing websites, a need to market the blog by investing money and a general over saturation in the market means that blogging, is slowly dying.

Think of it like bitcoin for instance. While some years ago you could buy 100 bitcoins for little money and earn massive amounts from it, essentially because it was a “new thing” this made it easy and cheap, but now it’s mainstream if you will it requires a big start investment and probably isn’t worth it for the average person.

Now compare this with blogging. 10 years ago you could start a website for dirt cheap, the lack of saturation meant it wasn’t hard to be found, and with this growth today you could be earning 6 figures easily.

In conclusion this is by no means meant to put you off blogging, but if you’re looking for a get rich quick scheme from stories you’ve heard, then you may want to look elsewhere.

@socynical, I'm interested in the same topic as you, let's spin it together. I signed on to you, I hope you'll sign up for me. Always glad to meet new people!

I blog to share my expertise. It doesn't matter if I make money from it either. There's content in my posts for a future book as well. No matter what happens on here, I'm not wasting my time either. It's an investment simply for the networking and writing experience.
